There are many aspects to photography but this will cover only five terms of it. the five covered are aperture, shutter speed, ISO, depth of field, and dynamic range.

Aperture is the opening in a lens to let light in. This can be adjusted to let more light in or less light in. This adjusts the brightness of your photo. The link covers aperture in greater detail.

Shutter speed is the length of time a cameras shutter is open. This is essentially how long a camera takes a photo. The link covers shutter speed in greater detail.

ISO is a camera setting that will brighten or darken a photo. When increasing ISO the photo will get brighter and when it is lowered the photo will be darker. The link explains ISO in greater detail.

Depth of field is the distance between the closest and farthest object in a photograph that appears sharp. The image changes what is in focus and what is out of focus when adjusting depth of field. The link explains depth of field in greater detail.

Dynamic range is the difference between the darkest and lightest tones in an image. Cameras have a more narrow dynamic range than the human eye which is why when a photo is taken on a bight day the shadows have to be crushed or the highlights have to be blown out. The link explains dynamic range in greater detail.
